I take the liberty to beg you to inform

me by opportunity if it would

be profitable and possible to send

cargos of Ice to your Port or

any other in China. You are

perhaps already aware that Cali-

fornia is supplied with Ice from

the Russ. Amer. Colonies and therefore

it would be desirable to know,

f not some thing could be done

in this branch of trade in China.
