Public Librarians' Monthly Chat

On the second Thursday of each month staff from Library Development will host an informal conversation with public librarians throughout Alaska. These monthly hour-long chats are opportunities for librarians to share information, build relationships and offer support to one another.

Web chats are presented using WebEx. If you haven't joined us for a chat before, please join a WebEx Test meeting to make sure your computer can handle WebEx. Programs with audio will require headphones or speakers connected to your computer.

Upcoming Chat

Date: Thursday, July 13, 11 a.m.
Topic: Every public library that has receives a Public Library Assistance (PLA) grant is required to complete a Public Library Report. Last year, the Alaska State Library streamlined the process of collecting Alaska Public Library Reports by implementing an online reporting system. During this month's chat, we will discuss why the Alaska State Library requires public libraries to complete this annual report, how the data from these reports are used and various data elements within the report. We will also discuss steps you can take to be prepared for the Alaska Public Library Report.
